Entropion (DC 6021)

Body system: EyeRegulation: 38 CFR § 4.79

Entropion is when your eyelid turns inward, causing your eyelashes to rub against your eyeball - it's uncomfortable and can damage your vision if left untreated. The VA rates this condition at 10% for one eye affected or 20% if both eyes are affected. These are straightforward ratings based solely on whether one or both eyes have the condition, regardless of severity.

Rating levels

  • 20% — You qualify for this rating level if you have entropion (a condition where your eyelid turns inward, causing your eyelashes to rub against your eyeball) in both eyes. The condition must affect both your left and right eyes to meet this criteria.
  • 10% — You qualify for this rating if you have entropion (a condition where your eyelid turns inward, causing your eyelashes to rub against your eyeball) that affects only one eye. The condition must be permanent and cause ongoing irritation, discomfort, or vision problems in the affected eye.
