VA Disability Rating for Penis, removal of glans (DC 7521)

DC 7521 covers removal of the glans, the head of the penis, by surgery, injury or disease. The VA rates it at a single level of 20% (38 CFR 4.115b), and the condition is reviewed for special monthly compensation for loss of use of a creative organ under 38 CFR 3.350. Removal of half or more of the penis is DC 7520 (30%).

Rating levels

  • 20% — This rating applies when the head (glans) of the penis has been surgically removed or lost due to injury or disease. The glans is the rounded tip of the penis that contains many nerve endings and is important for sexual function and sensation. This condition significantly impacts sexual function, urination patterns, and overall quality of life.
