Uterus, disease, injury, or adhesions of (DC 7613)

DC 7613 covers disease, injury, or adhesions of the uterus — including endometriosis (when not separately rated under DC 7629), adenomyosis, uterine fibroids/leiomyomas, chronic endometritis, Asherman's syndrome (intrauterine adhesions), and uterine prolapse without surgical removal. The VA rates this condition under the General Rating Formula for Disease, Injury, or Adhesions of Female Reproductive Organs — a 3-tier ladder (38 CFR § 4.116) keyed to whether symptoms are controlled by continuous treatment. Hysterectomy is rated separately under DCs 7617 (complete removal of uterus and both ovaries) or 7618 (removal of uterus only).

Rating levels

  • 30% — You qualify for 30% if symptoms persist despite ongoing medical treatment — medication, hormone therapy, or surgical management is not adequately controlling the condition.
  • 10% — You qualify for 10% if symptoms require continuous treatment (daily medication, ongoing hormonal therapy, recurring procedures) AND treatment is adequately controlling them.
  • 0% — You qualify for 0% if you have a diagnosed condition but symptoms do not require continuous treatment — intermittent flares, mild residuals, or asymptomatic between episodes.
