VA Disability Rating for Uterus, removal of, including corpus (DC 7618)

DC 7618 covers surgical removal of the uterus including the corpus, that is, a total or supracervical hysterectomy with the ovaries kept. The VA assigns a 100% rating for three months after the removal, then 30% thereafter. The rating schedule flags both ratings under this code for review for special monthly compensation under 38 CFR § 3.350 (SMC-K, for loss or loss of use of a creative organ). If both ovaries are also removed, DC 7617 applies instead (100% for three months, then 50%). Common reasons for the surgery include uterine fibroids, adenomyosis, severe abnormal uterine bleeding, uterine prolapse, and early-stage uterine disease.
