Ring finger, amputation of (DC 5155)

Body system: Musculoskeletal SystemRegulation: 38 CFR § 4.71a

This rating covers amputation (surgical removal) of your ring finger. The VA gives you 10% if the finger was removed without taking much of the hand bone (metacarpal), or 20% if they had to remove more than half of that hand bone too. The rating recognizes both the loss of function and the impact on your ability to grip and perform fine motor tasks with that hand.
