Chronic otitis externa (DC 6210)
Chronic otitis externa is a long-lasting infection or inflammation of your outer ear canal - the tube that leads from your outer ear to your eardrum. Many veterans know this as 'swimmer's ear' that just won't go away. The VA rates this condition at only 10%, which means you'd receive the basic compensation rate for that percentage. The rating is based on having ongoing symptoms like swelling, discharge, and itching that need regular medical treatment.
