VA Disability Rating for Enteritis, chronic (DC 7325)

Chronic enteritis is ongoing inflammation of your small intestine that causes symptoms like abdominal pain, diarrhea, and digestive issues. The VA doesn't have its own rating schedule for this condition - instead, they'll rate it using either the criteria for Irritable Bowel Syndrome (DC 7319) or Crohn's disease (DC 7326), depending on which condition your symptoms most closely match. This means your rating will follow whichever of those conditions best describes your predominant disability and functional limitations.

Rating levels

  • Note — Chronic enteritis is long-term inflammation of the small intestine. The VA rates it under whichever code fits the predominant disability: irritable bowel syndrome (DC 7319) when the picture is diarrhea, bloating and abdominal distress, or Crohn's disease and undifferentiated inflammatory bowel disease (DC 7326) when it is inflammatory bowel disease.
