VA Disability Rating for Anatomical loss of one foot and loss of use of one hand (DC 5105)

DC 5105 covers anatomical loss (amputation) of one foot together with loss of use of one hand. The VA rates this combination at 100% under 38 CFR 4.71a, and it also qualifies for special monthly compensation under 38 CFR 3.350. Loss of use means the hand no longer serves you better than an amputation stump with a prosthesis would.

Rating levels

  • 100% — You must have completely lost one foot through amputation or other means, and your hand on the opposite or same side must be completely unusable even if it's still physically attached. The hand doesn't need to be amputated, but it must have no functional ability whatsoever - meaning you cannot grip, grasp, or use it for any meaningful tasks.
