Body system: Musculoskeletal SystemRegulation: 38 CFR § 4.71a

Diagnostic Code 5107 covers the complete anatomical loss of both feet through amputation or injury. This is one of the most severe lower extremity disabilities the VA rates, carrying a 90% disability rating. This high rating reflects the significant impact on your mobility, employment prospects, and daily living activities, and often leads to Individual Unemployability (TDIU) consideration for a 100% schedular rating.

Rating levels

  • 100% — You qualify for this rating if you have lost both of your feet through amputation or if both feet have been completely destroyed due to injury or disease. The loss must be "anatomical," meaning the physical structure of the foot is gone, not just that you can't use your feet due to other problems like nerve damage or severe deformity.
