VA Disability Rating for Loss of use of both feet (DC 5110)

Diagnostic Code 5110 covers loss of use of both feet. The feet are still there, but no effective function remains beyond what an amputation stump with a suitable prosthesis would provide for balance and walking. The VA rates this at 100%. The rating schedule also marks this code as entitled to special monthly compensation, which is paid in addition to the rating.

Rating levels

  • 100% — You cannot use both of your feet for their normal functions like walking, standing, or balancing. This means both feet are completely non-functional due to injury, disease, or amputation, leaving you unable to bear weight or perform any meaningful foot movements that would allow you to walk or stand normally.
