Thyroid enlargement, nontoxic (DC 7902)

Body system: Endocrine SystemRegulation: 38 CFR § 4.119

Thyroid enlargement (nontoxic) refers to when your thyroid gland gets bigger but isn't overproducing hormones - it's essentially a goiter that doesn't affect your thyroid function. The VA doesn't rate this condition based on how it affects your thyroid - instead, they rate it purely on appearance under DC 7800 for disfigurement of the head, face, or neck. Your rating depends on how noticeable the enlargement is and whether it affects your appearance, with ratings ranging from 10% to 50% based on the severity of disfigurement.
