Understanding the data

SC grant: for service-connection appeals (was the condition linked to service?), the share granted of those granted or denied.
IR grant: for increased-rating appeals (is the rating too low?), the share granted of those granted or denied.
Remand: the share of appealed issues the Board sent back for more development rather than granting or denying.
The three AMA dockets: at the Board a veteran picks one lane, Direct Review (no hearing, no new evidence), Evidence Submission (new evidence), or Hearing. Open a condition to compare them.

All data from RateMyVSO analysis of 330,702 AMA-era BVA decisions (2019 to present). These are appeal-level outcomes. initial claim results may differ.

SC = service connection (was the condition linked to service?) · IR = increased rating (is the rating too low?) · grant = won of those granted or denied
